Chandra, “Sun Eagle” is a gifted healer and native to the ancient healing, shamanic and ceremonial practices of the Americas. Chandra grew up in the mountains of Colorado, finding great comfort and adventure in the outdoors. Wilderness was and still is her school of choice, and though she never told anyone, at an early age she discovered she had an instinctive understanding of our connection to other life forms.
She often found herself communicating with stones and trees, and spontaneously traveling in her consciousness to the stars. These natural abilities and her innate understanding of humanities connection with the earth and stars gradually developed into a deep passion for sharing the inherent wisdom of the natural world, and guiding others into the sacred journey of the soul. But first came the pursuit of body knowledge and the further development of her natural athletic abilities.
Chandra received a degree in Exercise Physiology from Colorado State University and then moved to Los Angeles where she became a personal trainer, managed a fitness center and raced bicycles on the semi-pro cycling circuit.
In 1998 an inner restlessness began to speak and Chandra knew it was time to dive deeper into her souls calling and the healing arts. The following 4 years became an integration of the physical arts and the spiritual realms as she traveled to other countries and immersed herself in the studies of Thai Yoga Massage, Cranio Sacral Unwinding, Polarity Therapy and yoga.
During those four years Chandra began to have visitations from indigenous teachers and beings of the spirit world. Her dreams called her back to ancient memories of other lands, of being a shaman and medicine woman, and on several occasions she found herself in deep trance states that seemed to occur naturally.
In 2002 Chandra was summoned in dreamtime by the Apu (holy mountain) Spirits of Salkantay, and was guided to the Peruvian Andes, where she began her formal shamanic training and initiation into the Q’ero lineage, direct descendents of the Inka, with Alberto Villoldo, Phd. and the shamans of the high Andes. She continued her studies in the Andean traditions with Jose Luis Herrera and Tito La Rosa, Peruvian Sound Healer and Ceremonialist.
Chandra is a full Mesa carrier of the Q’ero lineage, wisdom keeper and shamanic ceremonialist. She blends sound healing, indigenous teachings, ceremony, bodywork and shamanic energy healing with more modern day healing modalities for individual and group gatherings.
In 2006, Chandra and Melani were called to Kaua'i and the vision of Sonco Via began to anchor and come to life.
